"Choosing The Right Mailbox"

A mailbox isn't typically one of the factors a homeowner considers when addressing curb appeal. Yet an attractive mailbox can add aesthetic value to the home while a unattractive mailbox can detract from the home's beauty.

Therefore, in order to get both beauty and efficiency from your selected mailbox, you need to consider several things.

First, consider how each material weathers the elements. For example, heavy duty steel is rust resistant and can make your mailbox virtually indestructible.  Aluminum also does not rust and is relatively low maintenance. With brass, you get sheer elegance, and when properly cared for - it can lasts for years. 

The second important thing to be considered is function. If you receive large volume of mail in a day, you want to choose a product in bigger size and vice versa. You can also choose a mailbox with a lock and key for peace of mind. Another option to consider is a newspaper box that is mounted beneath the mailbox eliminating tears and creases.
